Based on a study of the elections and activities of deputies from the Belarusian provinces in the State Duma, a concept of the history of parliamentarism on the territory of Belarus during its time in the Russian Empire has been developed. The connection between the social characteristics of representatives of the Belarusian lands in the State Duma and the transformation of electoral legislation in 1906–1917 has been established. The specifics of the socio-political and legislative activities of deputies are revealed, it is shown that the legislative measures developed were aimed at a real improvement in the lives of the region's population, mainly the poor. The influence of the experience of Duma activity on the further life path of deputies from the Belarusian provinces is revealed.
