The Center for ancient archeology is a scientific and educational association established at Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University in 2016 in order to attract the attention of applicants, undergraduates, undergraduates and postgraduates to research in the field of archeology and the primitive history of Belarus, to develop cooperation with scientific and educational institutions, museums, government agencies and public organizations for the protection of the historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Belarus and foreign countries.
Main problems being conducted on the basis of this centre:
- Scientific research aimed at solving urgent problems of archeology and the primitive history of Belarus
- Educational and methodological support in the disciplines of historical and archaeological profiles
- The examination of scientific, educational and methodical literature on the disciplines of historical and archaeological profiles
- Scientific advisory and expert assistance to museums, public organizations and mass media, assistance in the dissemination of scientific information on the issues of accounting, protection and use of the archaeological heritage of the Republic of
The Center organizes events aimed at attracting the attention of younger generation to the study of the ancient past of the Mogilev Dnieper region, the importance of acquiring professional skills in the system of higher humanitarian (historical, archaeological) education. The staff of the center conducts lectures on the development of Russian and foreign archaeology with the presentation of materials, provides advisory assistance in the research work of students.
The Center conducts field archaeological expeditions, the purpose of which is to record and study monuments, and to introduce the data obtained into scientific circulation. An important result of the expedition is the creation of archaeological maps for individual districts of the Mogilev region. Materials are being collected for the Arch of monuments of the Stone and Bronze Ages of the Mogilev region.
The results of this work are used in the educational process, the development of lecture courses, the preparation of educational and teaching aids, reference and encyclopedic publications, monographs, scientific and popular science articles, term papers and theses of students, dissertation research, the creation of essays (excursions) on the ancient history of certain areas of the Mogilev region, exhibitions, the popularization of archaeological knowledge in the mass media. The center has a problem group of students studying the Stone and Bronze Ages of Belarus.
