Head: Alevtina Dinkevich, an associate professor of the department of Romano-Germanic philology, candidate of philological sciences
The Centre of the English Language and Culture is attached to Mogilev State University named after A. Kuleshov and exists in its entity as a separate unit. It was founded in 2015 and the formal opening ceremony took place on 9 April 2015. It was a great honour that the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the Republic of Belarus Bruce Bucknell participated in the opening ceremony together with the Head of our University.
The Centre collaborates internationally with a view to sharing experience and improving professional standards of language learning and instruction. It fosters international cooperation between Belarusian language scholars, educators and their counterparts abroad, primarily in the UK and the USA. The range of its activities is extremely varied and wide. Though it exists within the framework of the English Language Department, its activities involve all the Departments of the University — both professors and students.
An important place in the activities is given over to the studies in the field of intercultural communication, socio-cultural problems, British and American literature studies, business English and interpretation, semiotics and corpus linguistics, English language teaching, British and American studies.
